The bedroom wall that you see in the picture is not the best choice to complement zebra print bedding! Zebra stripes are cool, that goes without saying, but I want you to study the photo carefully and then close your eyes and imagine it beside a queen size zebra bedding set.

That is the best example ever of a decorating faux pas where too much of a good thing is in evidence. The most stunning set of green, purple, hot pink or blue zebra print comforter set would be totally eclipsed by large zebra stripes painted on the walls.


If you must have an accent wall in your bedroom, consider painting it in a funky, bright color that will make your bedding set stand out rather than battle with the zebra print bedding for attention.

It's obvious that the bold size of those stripes in the wall painting technique would completely overcome the teen girls bedding and the entire bedroom would be the ultimate loser.

These pink and black zebra print floor mats are one of the cutest zebra gift ideas for a teen girl that I've found yet! Such a nice $20 gift is very hard to find and the teens that I know love cute stuff for their cars.


I know it's not close to Christmas but the early bird gets the worm and after decorating a few bedrooms with zebra print bedding (are we ever going to get tired of zebra?) in the last few months, I wanted to pick up a few gifts that would tie into the girls bedroom themes to show my sincere appreciation to my clients.

What I love about overstock.com is their CHEAP shipping prices which are the next best thing to FREE (and yeah, I signed up to get commissions so shoot me for shopping with them, too). I looked all over their site for more cool zebra gift ideas that compared to the pink and black zebra rugs (read: less than $20) but didn't come up with anything OTHER than this cool chair that plan to use in the next bedroom where the girls bedding is black and white and wants some zebra striped accents.

What do you guys think about these sheer zebra curtains? I love the hot pink zebra bedding set and the funky bookcase headboard of the bed...but those curtain panels just don't fit with the decor in the rest of the room.

This is perhaps a perfect example of too much zebra print in a teen girl's bedroom. Maybe if they lost the scarf drape over the curtain rod and did something in white faux fur or made some cool tie backs rather than have them just hanging there like that then that would tie things together? I'm really not sure that would do the trick. Replacing the sheer zebra curtains with beaded curtains was mentioned and I kind of like that idea with this teen girls bedding set. What would you do? Would you keep the scarf or lose it and add accessories to bring the zebra print curtain panels more into line with the comforter set?

Still working on the teenage girl's bedroom I blogged about yesterday. Now zebra bedroom wall decorations are on my "to do" list and as luck would have the decorating budget is getting too tight to afford expensive pictures or even large, framed posters.

I thought of these painted canvases with a zebra print background with a large, hot pink peace sign in the middle that I have had my eye on for awhile. They would not work in a zebra theme bedroom where the bedding set primarily consists of zebra print fabric but in this room where the comforter is solid black and only the sheets have a zebra pattern these will be fantastic. If the painting is the right size it may be all the zebra bedroom wall decorations I need for this teen girls bedroom! Hopefully, the black velvet bedding set is going to turn out to be acceptable teenage girls bedding and my bedroom decorating ideas will have saved the day!

Oh yeah, who would have ever dreamed that some crafty soul would combine purple peace sign and zebra wall decor ideas! These are two of the most popular girls' bedroom themes of the entire year and here we have cute wall decorations that flawlessly blend the two patterns together and even managed to give it a boost with purple.

I've been known to successfully pull together two (or more) themes in my decorating days. Interesting bedroom color schemes are my forte' as I'm prone to boredom and tend to push the envelope in the area of layout and design so I can hardly wait for the next request for peace sign bedroom ideas and bedding sets so that I can experiment with zebra print. A short while ago I shared some decorating ideas for using purple zebra print bedding to give the modern teenage girl's bedroom a retro look with deco possibilities. The bedding set that was used in that example consisted of a comforter, shams and curtains with zebra stripes in black and purple with a coordinating leopard or cheetah print on the sheets bedskirt and pillow cases.

At the time that I wrote that article, I was tickled pink with the pictures of this bedroom design. The pics proved my theory that there were many more applications for animal prints than a safari theme bedroom filled with woven wood and tropical decorations in shades of green. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that I was THRILLED.

If that unique find tickled my fancy and titillated this decorator's imagination, you can just imagine what an even more sophisticated set would do for my day! I adore the concept of purple zebra print bedding where the fabric with stripes is alternated with neon purple and solid black as dark as the most mysterious ebony.
And wonder of wonders; there may even be some fabrics in shades of lavender for a designer to work with.
